My mattress pads all say machine wash warm in normal/ permanent press cycle. I use gentle cycle. My washer has a central agitator. Nearly all my mattress pads come apart afterwards…strands of plasticy shreds revealing polyester inner surface (also sometimes shredded). These are simple fitted mattress pads…not thick “toppers.”

In reply to sharon. Hi Sharon, it all depends on the materials. Poly-fiber will usually do OK in a machine but most foams won't. Let me know if I can help more

I’m assuming you’ll have do it by hand. If it is not to be machine washed then a filled tub is your best bet. It’s the tumbling of the machine that usually does the fiber damage, so keep that in try not to toss it around too much.

Personally, I stay away from stuff that can’t be machine washed :/

My polyester mattress topper by Laura Ashley says not to machine wash or dry. Spot clean only. It has no spots but I feel it should be cleaned in some way. Can it be dry cleaned? What do you recommend?

My mattress topper has’nt any labels for washing etc.Is it ok to put in the washing machine as it is stained?
