Among high-rises for camping, the Supportrest is still undisputed king of the hill, second in ratings only to two low-rise models – the SoundAsleep Camping Series and the LightSpeed Outdoors TPU.

It also one of the Top 10 best air mattresses overall.

Comfort

This mattress feels almost like a regular bed. It has a lot of support and is deeper than most air mattresses at 18 inches.

It will also inflate to upwards of 20 inches, if you prefer a firm bed. Another bonus to the increased height is that is much easier to get out of the bed.

You don’t have to roll onto the ground with this mattress – you can just sit up on the edge like you would in your bed at home.

Support

It has both vertical and lateral support for added comfort.

The ComfortStrong beams keep the sleeping surface level without caving in, while the SupportLock design gives lateral support for the width of the mattress.

The two features combined make for a flat, stable sleeping surface – again, very similar to that of a regular bed.

Solid air retention

While other brands state that PVC stretches and needs to have air added periodically through the night, the Coleman SupportRest Double High doesn’t seem to have that problem – it’s backed up by the 1-Year warranty on all air leaks (not punctures).

It maintains support without topping it off, even when it has been several nights since you set it up.

The Pillow-stop design

The sleeping surface itself is plush, which helps hold body warmth.

If features raised edges that Coleman calls Pillow-stop. The name explains what they’re there for – so that you don’t have to chase your pillow through the night if the bed is not against a wall.

Durability & Longevity

The PVC material used is sturdy and heavy duty. One-year Coleman warranty on all “naturally” developed leaks is a strong plus.

The valve itself is a double lock system. One lock kicks in when you remove the pump, so the air you just put in doesn’t seep out. The other lock adds a further seal when you are actually on the mattress.

Seams run around the perimeter of the mattress so that the sleeping surface is seamless.

The SupportLock System

The Support Lock Reinforcement System keeps the mattress stable when you turn over during the night. With this stability, the sides of the mattress are less likely to break down.

The inner support coils of the mattress are sturdy and well attached so they continue to do the job they were designed to do.

This design holds up during extended use. In fact, we haven’t seen the inner stabilizers fail. This keeps the sleeping surface from sagging or dipping around the edges.

Solid choice for heavy people

The Coleman SupporRest is one of out top choice for people on the heavier side – the main reason for that is that it does not sag and the seams do not split.

Sturdy edges

Although we wouldn’t recommend doing this regularly, it is inevitable that someone will sit on the edge of the mattress occasionally when you are camping out.

Bottom line – the Coleman SupportRest can withstand some serious “abuse” without giving in.

Value for the Money

So, is it worth it?

Even without the air pump included, this is a popular and popular mattress.

It’s not as popular as our top picks, but it still makes a solid affordable option – especially coming from a reputable company like Aerobed and backed up by the warranties we talked about.

Along with the Coleman Cot airbed – the SupporRest is still  one of the toop coleman models.
